Cayenne Pepper Diet Recipe

There are a lot of questions about the cayenne pepper diet recipe, so I thought that I would provide a little feedback on some of the cayenne pepper diet instructions for you. There seems to be a lot of confusion on just how to go about preparing the diet, what you can use for substitutions, and when it is appropriate to do the cleanse.

First let me say that I am not a doctor, I can’t tell you whether it’s okay to do the master cleanse while you were pregnant or if you have any specific health issues. Best recourse if you have any specific issues that you’re concerned about is to contact your health provider and discuss with them first, rather than looking for advice from someone who doesn’t understand your complete situation. Usually, you are better safe than sorry so if have serious concerns then don’t do the Fast.

Now let’s take a look at the cleanse recipe. As I have mentioned previously, this will mix up enough for four 8 oz glasses of the lemonade diet drink, or 32 ounces. Each day you will probably drink 6 to 8 glasses, so make more when you need it or just make two jugs in the morning.

Cayenne Pepper Diet Recipe

24 ounces cold water
three ounces of freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice
three ounces of Grade B maple syrup
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Add the fresh lemon juice with or without pulp to the water and mix in the maple syrup and the pinch of cayenne pepper. I like to add a ton of ice to keep it nice and cold. Don’t forget you will need to be doing the salt water flush as well, in the morning.

Next up, let’s talk about the cayenne pepper diet ingredients. I’ll address them one by one.

Cayenne pepper - for the cayenne you are basically going to want to use powdered pepper. You can buy cayenne pepper in your supermarket or you can just purchase it online at Amazon. This is especially useful if you want to get organic cayenne pepper as a lot of supermarkets don’t carry it. Red chili pepper is the same thing as cayenne pepper so you can use that as a substitute if you can’t find the container that says cayenne on.

Grade B maple syrup – you can buy Grade B Maple Syrup on Amazon if you can’t find it at your supermarket. Alternatively, I would just look for the dark amber maple syrup. Maple syrup in the US is most commonly graded as being light, medium or dark Amber.

What about honey? Doing the Master Cleanse with honey instead of maple syrup is not recommended by Stanley Burroughs. He in fact thinks honey is horrible for your health. I don’t have an opinion one way or the other in regards to the healthfulness of honey. However, many people think it is a very healthy ingredient. That said it has a completely different viscosity compared to maple syrup so it is certainly not going to mix as well with the other ingredients.

Lemons or limes - this is the only part of the cayenne cleanse that allows you a definite choice. It is entirely up to you whether you use lemons or limes for the cleanse. That said, most people use lemons, which is why it usually gets referred to as the lemon and cayenne pepper diet.

Water – Spring water, purified water or distilled is fine.

As far as things go if you desire to substitute any of the ingredients listed, then you are not doing the cayenne cleanse as designed by Stanley Burroughs. So if any of these ingredients disagree with you then you might want to try a different type of cleanse rather than trying to make this one fit into your various substitutions.
